I really like Erika Knight's book, Simple Crochet, perhaps because it makes crocheting so, well, simple.  And with all the rippling going on -- thanks to Alicia's beautiful creation -- I needed to try my hand at the wave.  Erika's book features an easy to follow Chevron Stripe that I used for this swatch.  Dare I ripple too?  At least not before nona-niece-the-newest's blanket is finished...

Yarn: Rowan's Handknit Cotton
Hook: G
Gauge: 10 stitches (1 ripple) = 3 inches
Stitch: Chevron Stripes; multiple of 10 + 4
Techniques: Chain, Single Crochet, Double Crochet, Smiling

I feel like calling you on switching to crochet, but I love this ripples and have done a few big afghans.
Some of the new knitting patterns mimic this.
Why? I like it just as you did it.

Alicia's ripple blanket is inspiring. I'm rather glad that at this point all I can crochet is a chain. The activation energy to start a ripple anything is too high right now; I have too much I want to knit and learn to knit. That said, I like your swatch.

Alicia makes it sound so very tempting and a bit scary at the same time. I like your colors here -- they would go nicely in my bedroom.
