Inspiration: I was poking through Walker's A Treasury of Knitting Patterns and instantly liked this combination of cables and lace.  This is the stitch pattern for me and my knee-high socks.
Yarn: Blue Moon's Socks that Rock; Downpour.
Needles: US 1
Gauge: TBD, it's late!
Stitch: Lace Cable
Source: A Treasury of Knitting Patterns, page 275

That pattern is a knockout -- the colorways harmonize really well, prevengting the combination of varigated yarn and textured stitch from being too "busy." Also, cute new stockings are a great excuse to shop for some cute new shoes!

Perfect combination of pattern and yarn. I have admired that pattern in BW's treasury. I tried it in a variegated yarn whose colors were to different, but in your yarn it looks great. Time to rummage in my sock yarn stash!

I just love the pattern you used for Downpour...so much that I bought the Treasury book! So using 64 sts...how did you split the pattern? The book has the pattern ending with 6 sts a certain way but knitting in the round in wouldn't come out right. Knitting flat it would work. Help if you can please!
