Inspiration: Today I had two thoughts in my head.  First, that I wanted to knit a pair of socks using Blue Moon's Socks that Rock yarn.  And second, that I wanted to knit a pair of knee-highs.  In pursuit of these thoughts, I knit a circular swatch to determine my gauge and to fool around with some potential stitch patterns.
Yarn: Blue Moon's Socks that Rock; downpour.  Downpour is a kooky name, but it fits the color way.
Needles: US 1
Gauge: 8 stitches = 1 inch in stockinette stitch
Stitch: Stockinette stitch, followed by  Puff Rib, followed by k1, p2  ribbing (twisting the knit stitch).

Puff Rib; knit in the round; multiple of 3 stitches

Round 1: *yo, k1, yo, p2*, repeat between **
Round 2: *k3, p2*, repeat
Round 3: *k3, p2*, repeat
Round 4: *k3tog, p2*, repeat

Source: Puff Rib is from Walker's A Treasury of Knitting Patterns, page 47

I love the twisted ribbing -- it's my favorite choice for socks. Also, I'll bet that colorway would look great in an eye of partridge heel, you'd probably get a really nice dappled effect.

Is that the lightweight STR?

These are great! Gwyndolyn is learning a lot just watching nona's experiments.

("Downpour" fits perfectly, imho. There's the glossy gray of the sky, the blue of the kicked-up puddles, the brown of the neighbor's beauty bark, the silver of the clouds. One watches a lot of rain in Seattle, where Gwyndolyn hails from. Well, she doesn't "hail," that would be a different colorway.)
