A rare photo of the elusive Nona (at least here in blog-land). Thanks for sharing it! You and your boys are fabulous.

What a great photo! Enjoy your summer and empty nest-dom. It took me a while to get used to it, since it was just me and my girl for years and she was the focus of my life, always. But now, I almost groan when she calls and says she's coming over to spend some time. Heheh.

What a sweet photo! They grow up so fast. :)

Nona, could you teach my own mother a thing or two? She's cried over me and jumps for joy over the though of my brother moving out.

Congrats on the empty nest. I'm looking forward to it but I've got a decade to go. And a daughter who still maintains that she will *always* want to be with Mom and Dad. Now that is a scary thought.

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy your new adventures! Sounds like you will be the kind of mom will be on the move alot more than the kids - have fun!

Adorable little boys. (Don't tell your young men I said that).

I have been thinking of you, my sports-event-knitting-friend. My youngest is living up in Washington playing baseball up there for the summer.

When he left, I didn't realize I would be able to listen to his games every night via internet radio.

Now I spend my evenings listening and knitting, and maybe enjoying a Mojito or glass of wine. Then, reading in bed late.

It is a pretty sweet time of life.

Have a fabulous summer.

I was looking through knitting blogs, as I often do, and stopped by yours--my best friend's name is Nona (short for Winona), and never have come across another in the 25 or so years I've known her. It seems like forever until my boys are grown and gone, but I assume it will pass by quicker than I can possibly imagine. Happy Summer.

Very cute post and picture, and kids! Very encouraging words for me, the mom of a pretty active toddler.

hey Nona:

Your 30th high school reunion is around the corner. Now likely you are teaching math and creating more brilliant minds...but how about a weekend away to test your backgammon skills? Better than bloody knuckles if I recall.
