On The Flip Side

The flip side of a blanket, a 45 record, or a pancake is often neglected -- you get what you get.  Today I took a close look at the flip side of my hefty baby blanket and you know what, I like it!  I love how the colors and yarn blend together, creating a nice juxtaposition to the graphic sharpness of the blanket's front.

Very nice! A reversible blanket! :-)

i love it! so pretty on both sides, you definitely don't want a blanket that you can never flip over

The reverse side is one of the reasons I have less enthusiasm for knitting blankets. However, the back of this one is lovely.

Can't decide which side is nicer. Love em both.

The back is beautiful! I love the way the colors transition. I've been really interested in stitch patterns that give an overall tweedy effect lately.

I'm the kind of girl who often liked the flip side of the 45 better.

Beautiful, as always!

I haven't been commenting lately because everytime I saw that blanket all I can think about is cutting it up and turn it into a vest!

Wow, this knitting is fabulous!
it looks like by "WEAVING" more than "KNITTING"

Ha! Too true! That looks lovely lovely lovely.

Posted by: Laura | Mar 27, 2007 4:03:38 PM

It's beautiful, and I think I like the flip side better :-)

The underside is often far more complex and entwined than the pristine front. If you look at some items closely, they almost reveal the process travelled to complete the whole.

Wow. The back is as beautiful as the front. That's quite an accomplishment!

Posted by: Lynn | Mar 27, 2007 7:19:33 PM

Ah, I love it.

I like the back, especially in that blend of colors. Nona-niece-the-newest is one lucky baby! If her Nona-aunt is anything like my aunt, who had a son and no daughters, she is going to be getting lots of great girl-handknits.

It is wonderful and lovely. The colour pattern is beautiful.

What a blanket! Lucky baby.

A long time lurker coming out of the shadows - while I admire everything you knit, I love the blanket and nona niece hat about which you recently posted. Any chance of getting the patterns? Love your swatch project.

Thanks for this -- I always wonder what the flip side of stitch patterns look like.

I LOVE the back! The front is nice but I actually prefer the back. Very pretty.

I love the way that looks! of course, the front is lovely as well,
Happy knitting,
