Confidential, Top Secret

alt_hereConfidential.  Top Secret.  I'm only going to tell you -- yes you -- so you're on your honor to keep it under raps.  I've secretly started my own Ripple blanket.  I know, I know I was only going to swatch a few ripples, but the lure of the Ripple Siren was too much for my weak constitution.  To maintain my sanity and the sanity of those around me, I've limited myself to one ripple per day.  Remember this is top secret and you did not hear it from me.  This post will self destruct in 5 seconds -- 5, 4, 3, 2, 1....

I'm not rippling, but I'm mitering like there's no tomorrow. It's a sickness. Truly a sickness. I wish you all the best with your resolve.

Very pretty! So a blanket for your new niece and a ripple blanket. You will have a lot of heft going on! I won't tell a soul.

Another blanket? I won't tell, as long as you don't tell that I joined the flickr group with plans to make one. Shh.

Uh oh, if nonaRipples, then how long can I hold out?!

Posted by: Laura | Mar 28, 2007 6:26:59 PM

I completely understand. There have been so many gorgeous ripples popping up lately. And then there were those swatches you were doing. How were you ever supposed to resist?
I am looking forward to watching this progress!

I've got 2 going myself, guiltily. I love your color choices!

Gah! Clearly the Ripple Virus is spreading! :)

I can't ripple to save my life. I can Granny Square, Mile A Minute and make a hat. But ripple? Newp. I love your color choices. Have a ripple for me. =)

sooooo tempting to join you on the ripples. I must finish a few other things first.
*looks at stash*

I used to ripple. But my afghans NEVER ended up being rectangles. Beautiful, large, but don't lay them out on the bed where you can see the edges!

Welcome to the Ripple, nona!
I use the same method of rippling: 1/night, during The Daily Show!

Posted by: Tara | Mar 29, 2007 5:09:43 AM

oohh....you've been sneaky!
I understood that they can be very addicting, as with mitered and granny square. I'm trying VERY hard not to catch the bug!

Between you and Cara, doubtless my cotton stash is dooooooooomed!

I love the ripples! I've been working on one myself (though the ripples are much more pronounced, more pointly really) and it's a real welcomed break from the knitting, as the incessant knitting can cramp up your hands and such. I like your color choices too (here and on NonaSwatches, the brown, pink and teal one). That and if you work on it in your spare time, it will be ready for next fall!

it is very tempting!

Posted by: hpny knits | Mar 29, 2007 1:21:23 PM

hahah good for you! Ripple away.

Posted by: Kelly | Mar 29, 2007 5:34:22 PM

I promise that I won't tell.
I'm loving the color combo

Love your colors. I'm guilty. I started too. I've been rippling like mad. It's very addicting. And I'd forgotten the instant gratification of crochet.

Posted by: Anne | Mar 31, 2007 1:10:19 AM

How very pretty your colors are! I can see why you succumbed.

Yes, yes, but how is the KnitOff going?

(And, how wide are you not-making this not-ripple?)

I haven't rippled since the 60's. Looks like it's time to try it again!

Posted by: Cindy D | Apr 2, 2007 6:16:19 AM

Now you've got me considering it! I held off for so long...

Posted by: Nora | Apr 4, 2007 1:29:29 PM

it's sad to admit, but i saw your ripples, and said "wow, i've been avoiding crocheting for too long." so, i up and learned how to ripple, and my blanket is about 24 inches long by 46 inches wide so far. it's quite an addiction...thanks for the inspiration

In fact, this is a very, very good submission. In theory I want to createthis also - so the actual time and efforts to writing a fantasy ... butwhat can I say ... I have a lot of delays and will not be made a littlesomething there .
