Am I Old Enough?
The other day with my foot propped on the desk as I re-taped the hem of my pants -- please, oh please don't tell me that you've never taped or stapled a hem before -- I had occasion to gaze at my beautiful new slippers and wonder, "At what age can I start wearing slippers to work?".
What this country needs is a
"Wear Your Slippers to Work" Day.

Those are some fancy slippers you got there! I think we should always be allowed to wear slippers to work.

Oh good idea! My daughter would totally agree with you. She wanted to wear her felted slippers to the eye doctor yesterday. Mean mom that I am, I didn't allow it. Hmmm....maybe I should have just let her go for it! She could start a trend, and then maybe you would get your wish (wink).

Nona, with slippers as cute as those, I see no reason why you shouldn't wear them to work!

If those are the slippers, any day! Seriously, where did you get those gorgeous things?

Those are too cute! There is only one answer: YES!

Start wearing slippers to work NOW!!!! I will if you will, teeheehee. They are so cute. Actually I've done the slipper thing by accident; fortunately I had a pair of flip flops in the car to change to; they weren't my very best pair of slippers :) BTW learned to "tape the hem" on my pants back in high school, too many years ago!

Thank you for the kind comment. I would love to take a sick day, but as I am nearly better (and they offer us iPods if we come to school all the time) I'm sure I'll make it...
Those are amazing slippers! And, of course, I am taking note of the embroidery for future knitting!

Hints from Heloise: duct tape works the best for taping hems. Also for removing lint from black sweaters/pants/coats.
Wear the slippers. I defy anyone to know that that's what they are.

since i am even shorter than you, and don't like hemming pants, i simply buy croped pants and wear them as normal pants. but then i have to take the waist in...
ah, the pains of being five feet tall and weighing 87 pounds...

Duct tape hems rule! Better to wear matching slippers to work than two different shoes :-) Those slippers resemble shoes anyway. Many girls at school wear very simular items, only difference is they have a back, yours are even hipper (is that a word?) with the mule.

When the slippers are this beautiful, it is always OK to wear them to work.

I had a lovely pair of black felted slippers with a thick rubber sole (that sadly wore out) and one Reformation Sunday I looked down at my black pants and realized - I hadn't changed my shoes! Yipes. Luckily you really couldn't tell, but that was one comfy church service.
