Tooth Fairy?

I've always attributed my smarts to an excellent childhood, a fine education, and a healthy dose of curiosity.   But recently I've learned the truth -- my intellectual prowess is due to the fact that I have 5 -- yes five -- wisdom teeth.  Actually, I should say I had 5 wisdom teeth -- one was extracted yesterday, leaving me with the standard set of 4.  On the bright side, my time in the dental chair was not all bad.  Not only did it provide me an opportunity to knit, but I also returned home with a tooth to put under my pillow.

What do you suppose the tooth fairy brought nona?
You know the mouse drill by now, don't you?

Genius. What kind of yarn is that? The colours are fabbity fab.

I discovered mine (the wisdom teeth, not the yarn :P) are coming through yesterday. Mummers says I'll probably have to have them taken out becuase they'll muck up all the progress we've made with my braces.

Alright I'm going to the dentist now. It's sooo worth it.

But... but... that's unpossible! Where did the fifth tooth LIVE?

To anyone who hasn't had their wisdom teeth out yet: do it. Now. But they don't hurt, you say? That's why it's the perfect time!

They will only get bigger, and meaner, and if you wait too long, it will hurt a LOT to have them extracted. Even if you ONLY have four. ;-)

I had all of mine out at the tender age of fourteen, all at once, and all I needed was a few Tylenol the next day. Best decision I ever made.

Looks like the tooth fairy checked with the yarn fairy! ;) Nice colors!

Can I just say - I LOVE your sheets! May I ask where you got them?

How come the tooth fairy was never that nice to me??? I still have my wisdom teeth, though...

My kid's orthodontist said he had a patient with 8 wisdom teeth once.

I still have my wisdom teeth so no tooth fairy for me! You have a very nice tooth fairy.

Doing some easy math, that's three skeins per tooth. If you get the other four out you'll get twelve more skeins of yarn from the tooth and yarn fairy!

That's a nice fairy. My fairy only left me a dollar per tooth. :B

i had an extra wisdom tooth too. i wouldnt really say i had 5 because the fifth one was about 1/2 size and stuck out of my gum at an odd angle.... i'll say i had 4.5 wisdom teeth.

How did you knit while in the dentist's chair? I was born without any wisdom teeth.

Awesome - better than percodan...but more addicting.

Eep. I spent most of yesterday in the dentist's chair, too -- two fillings and a root canal. I don't have a tooth to trade, but d'you think I could talk the tooth fairy into putting out a little anyway? ;)

Excellent haul from the tooth fairy. I have all 4 of my wisdom teeth still. They came in perfectly straight and haven't given me any trouble. In fact, had a root canal in one to save it. If the dentist had pulled it, it would mess up my occlusion (the way the top & bottome teeth line up together). So, he did the root canal.

Smart tooth fairy!

I, on the other hand, have one and only one wisdom tooth--something about having been a preemie--but I can't say I've ever thought it made much of a difference to my accumulated wisdom--although, at least I still have it, for now!

Why what lovely yarn you got!

My wisdom teeth were all facing the wrong way, forward, instead of up or down. It was bad.

Geez, you've got some tooth fairy loot there. Are you sure all you did is give her one tooth? I'm just sayin' is all....

That's almost worth losing a tooth for! Ouch. Hope you heal easily and well.

Nona, you're like a shark :). Garrr!

Posted by: grumperina | Mar 30, 2006 6:00:32 PM

Great score, Nona! I'll have to do a trick with a string, a doorknob, and one of my teeth.

Hmmmmm, an extra wisdom tooth. NO WONDER!

Happy milkshakes to you.

I'm too young for wisdom teeth (3 more years). Nona, I finished the back and the front on my sweater in 2 days! before I was only halfway done with the back. I'm MCSing. I love the musique yarn.

Good thing your last extraction was easy and you recovered quickly. Hmmm, I think I heard from someone that a person is intelligent if he has more than four wisdom teeth. I think I'll check with my dentist to see if I have six or seven. LOL Anyway, I like your knitting masterpieces.
