Knitting Jeopardy

I don't know about you, but there are times when strange, random thoughts pop into my head. Case in point:

nona: I'll take "UFOs" for $500 please Alex.
Alex: And the answer is 1000s and 1000s and 1000s of knit stitches and 0 purl stitches.
nona: What is my Hanne Falkenberg Promenade Shawl?
Alex: I'm sorry nona, that's incorrect -- you're Promenade Shawl in no longer a UFO!

This shawl has been in the works for 18 long months in an on again, off again sort of way.  I've knit it at the dentist office, I've knit it at the ski lodge, I've even been busted carrying this beast -- I mean shawl -- around in an old grocery bag.  As of tonight the shawl is officially done.  nona's not quite sure what to make of it, but what the heck it's done!

What to see the back?  Guess how...

Persistance pays off. It looks like a great way to stay warm (and it's beautiful!).

Nona, it looks great! I bet it feels wonderful to finish a long-term project.

I love the colors! Looks like the perfect thing to wear on cooler days with a pair of jeans.

I have heard from many that the looooooong rows feel like they take forever, but everyone also always say that persistency pays off because it is so beautiful and cleverly designed (as with almost all Hanne Falkenberg designs). She is one of the Danish designers who makes me rather proud of being Danish...the designs are really special.

I wasn't so sure, but I really do like it. I especially like the look of those angles on the back. Good stuff :)

(shamefully) mine has been in storage, just as little balls of yarn, for at least twice as long as you took to knit it! i don't even remember the colorway! (yes, the shameful knitter) it's absolutely beautiful! and soooo wearable --- the wrap will always out survive the poncho or capelet.

Very pretty! It's an interesting combination of shawl and poncho designs, and I like it better than a simple poncho - lots more flexibility.

It's amazing. Wonderful work and thanks for the Hanne introduction. :)
