Everyone Into The Pool

To quote Fred Flintstone, "Everyone into the pool".  Don't worry you don't have to put on your bathing suit and dive into fall chilled water.  nona's not talking about that kind of pool -- I'm talking about a betting pool.  Here's the skinny...

On which row, if any, will the yarn run out?  (I have 67 rows to work)
Guess correctly and win a prize!

As you may recall, I've casted all my projects aside while I knit a "Katrina Sweater" for my LYS's hand knit sweater drive.  I started with 3 balls of yarn and am down to the partial ball you see laying on top of the sweater.  I have one more sleeve to go -- 67 rows to be exact.  Although I try to think positively, I'm convinced the yarn will not last to the end of the sleeve.  So -- here's where the pool comes in wagering reader -- on what row will the yarn run out?  Take a guess!  The closest to the actual row, without going over, will win a prize.

(A note to the concerned reader:  Don't worry, I'm not at all upset about running out of yarn.  Although my LYS is out of this yarn, more is on order and should arrive in a week.  The yarn has so much variation matching the dye lot is not a concern.)

I guess row 46.

I will say 65. Because just when you begin to think you'll be able to finish with the yarn remaining, the yarn ends. Experienced it many times. ;)

If I was knitting it Murphys law would kick in at row 66 leaving me to knit one measley row and the bind off from a new ball.So this is my guess but I hope I'm wrong :-)

Posted by: Pennie | Oct 7, 2005 6:43:38 AM

Posted by: Sockbug | Oct 7, 2005 7:19:56 AM

Its totally going to run out on row 44.

Posted by: Diana | Oct 7, 2005 7:42:55 AM

62 - so close that it will drive you nuts!

Posted by: diane | Oct 7, 2005 7:49:51 AM

Very tough! I think that it will run out row 56. That's one of the only high-ish numbers that I didn't spot already!

Posted by: kira | Oct 7, 2005 9:30:00 AM

Well...since almost all number are taken, I'll guess 66 1/2. ;D

Posted by: Yuvee | Oct 7, 2005 9:53:02 AM

I take 65!

Posted by: Purly Whites | Oct 7, 2005 10:42:32 AM

I would actually think that it won't run out, but as that one is already taken, I go for row 38.

Posted by: Grauwal | Oct 7, 2005 11:02:02 AM

I say you'll get all the way to row 67, bind off, and have a *wee* bit left after weaving the ends in.
