Tie-Front Shrug

nona's been experimenting with a tie-front shrug.  This variation is a cropped bolero, 3/4 sleeve, ribbon tied shrug in white -- nona's heard that white is this summer's neutral -- and is almost finished.  I would have worn the shrug for the picture, but I'm currently in my pajamas and a bit too lazy to change for a picture -- can you relate?

I still need to decide what type of edging to use around the body and neckline.  I used an applied i-cord around the cuff -- which I love -- it's not a hard technique, but it takes a heck of a long time.   Should I just suck it up and use the M & M technique?   Or can someone think of another edging that would work with the curve of the bolero shaping?

nona loves the look of the i-cord, it just takes so
darn long -- is it worth it?

Ooooh, it's so, so beautiful as it is - you have a creative way of taking something and turning it into wow! I-cord would be classic chic simple. Or some ruffles or lace would co-ordinate with that pretty lace ribbon. Or you could edge this in pearl beaded knitting. Have fun dreaming up your edging!

It's lovely! Would you give us the details later? I mean the yarn used, the gauge etc? I am always a bit scared when wearing white ... I am such a sloppy person.

It is very pretty, is it for a wedding ?

Nona, I really like the i-cord--it's a lovely shrug overall. If M&Ms are what it takes, then bring on the M&Ms!

I-cord is the most professional looking finish, need I say more...start chewing!

yes, the icord is worth it--it looks fantastic!

I agree with all the other posts. The I-cord is lookin' good. I've been using that I-cord bind off for the Fiesta tea set that I'm doing right now, and boy is it slow-slow-slow. But it looks fantastic! Keep it up, and buy stock in M&Ms.

The I-cord looks TOO good to pass up. M&M it...just think how many you'll get to eat.
NBT is finshed! I love it...I'm wearing it now. Pictures next week.

I would probably crochet an edge, then rip it and go with i-cord. Maybe.

The icord DOES look fantastic. my icords never look like that. alternatively, I could suggest my current favourite, the bias edge (but i may be biased). Also i'm longing to try a longwise rib edging. ie perpendicular to the back neck stitches; knit in a looooong strip and sewn in place.

I have searched high and low for a pattern exactly like this, this is gorgeous. Do you have a pattern to share?
