Living On The Edge

alt_herenona's living on the edge.  Now it's not as exciting as you may think -- as a point of reference, nona spent her Friday night with her NBaT and a Jiffy Steamer.   No, the edge I'm living on is the knitting edge.  Yesterday was the attached i-cord edging for my tie-front shrug -- thanks to all the commenters who convinced me to finish edging my shrug with the i-cord, I bought my 1 lb bag of M&Ms in preparation -- and today was the bias edging for my NBaT.  I love how Anna finished her NBaT with this bias edging and I'm, well I'm, well I'm, copying her -- thanks Anna!  I knit the bias strip tonight and will be sewing it in place tomorrow -- wish me luck.

NBaT and a Jiffy Steamer -- Can you say Friday night fun?

Hmmm. I may just have to break down and try the NbaT with some of the edging treatments. Must look up I-cord bind off.
My question is, didn't Elizabeth Zimmerman advocate short rows to make sweaters fit better? I think that she used them for the back of the neck so that front and back would hang to the same length, but I'm not sure. What do you think about this?

The steamer stories are wonderful. Can I ask you to enter my Worldwide Knit in Public Day contest? See irisheyes etc blog. I am going to donate a dollar for every entry sent to Illinois Burn Camp. My hubby is a firefighter and they work very hard sending kids to weeklong summer camp to be with others who have been injured in fires in our Chicago area.
