UFOs, The First Batch

After recovering from my shock of a few days ago -- you know, when I realized I had 12 knitting UFOs tucked about the house -- I came to the realization that I had to deal with my unfinished knitting projects.  In an attempt to be responsible, I've decided to go through the UFOs and decide their fates.  Here are the 3 projects I'm dealing with today:

Three of nona's UFOs

Beginning from top left....

  1. Brandon Mably's Old Tiles box jacket from Brilliant Knits - it's the sweater on the cover.  I'm using different yarns and colors from the original pattern, nona's got to do her own thang.  This sweater is very slow going, with lots and lots of yarn ends flying around.  Over the last 6 months, I've only managed to complete part of one sleeve.  This project is a keeper and one that I'll continue to plod along with.  Goal - make a little progress each week.
  2. Elsebeth Lavold's Gyrid from The Viking Knits Collection book one.  I've completed the front and back of this sleeveless top.  I just need to seam the pieces together and work the neckband.  Why so many projects get stuck at this stage, nona will never know.  Goal - finish by next Friday (Jan. 27th).

  3. Bouton d'Or Poncho Verane (pattern #3) from Cataloque #79.  Again, all the pieces are completed and blocked!  I just need to seam the pieces and add fringe.  Goal - finish by next Friday (Jan. 27th).

If you're trying to inspire us with your very organized goals and deadlines to finish our own UFO's (say, a very unfinished quilt meant to be a present for a very long ago wedding), well, it's working. It's nice to have a great role model! Goal: a little each week with a final deadline of May 2005.
