I so enjoy knitting these small square-in-square log cabin swatches. It's always interesting to see how the color of the center square interacts with the color(s) of the outer square.
I'm often asked what I'm going to do with all my swatches. Most of the swatches I'll do nothing with -- knitting them was enough. As for the square-in-square log cabin swatches, I plan to combine them into a small wall piece.
| Yarn: | Rowan's Cotton Glace, Rowan's Wool Cotton, and a few other random things from my stash. |
| Needles: | US 4 |
| Stitch: | Garter Stitch |
| Techniques: | Short Rows, Log Cabin Knitting |

This is knitting that begins and ends with you. How organically artistic. It takes such strength to let go and let the colours flow. I LOVE it! I can't imagine the energy of several together.

I love the short-row log cabins! If you ever feel like posting a mini-tutorial (maybe just a couple of steps, or guidelines), I am sure I'm not the only person who would be excited to make some wonky log cabins of my own. :)
