Yesterday's Brioche Stitch swatch worked my mind into a swirling "what if" frenzy -- what if I used 2 colors, what if I cabled, what if I could get vertical stripes, etc, etc, etc. I'm sure, clever reader, you can guess what the next few days will bring. Click here for a close up.
Pshaw to those who think swatching is mundane. On the contrary, swatching is liberating and creatively stimulating.

The resources I mentioned in my comment to the Feb 7 swatch actually explain how to make vertical stripes with the raised knit columns in one color and the dip in between in the other color. Then the reverse side of the fabric is a negative image.
I really like this too though -- can't wait to see what else you come up with!

Hi Nona ~ I love this version of the Brioche stitch ~ birds of a feather... lol.
I gotta add, I'm trying the short row technique for the first time with the Calorimetry headband and I'm loving it, lol.

I've found out nonaSwatches yesterday, went back to see them all, and I have to say that I'm hooked! That's a great idea, and you come up with very inspiring swatches... Thanks for sharing!

A yarn store I visited a couple of years ago had a scarf sampler out (Kid Silk Haze as I recall) with a double Brioche. It was gorgeous, done lace style on larger needles. Hmmmm.

I love this stitch with the two colors! I can't wait to see the other variations you come up with over the next few days.

I'd like to congratulate you Nona for lasting this long, had it been me I would have missed more than a day or two of swatching by now.
I love coming to your site knowing that even if you haven't had time to blog, you've had time to swatch.

Question: is this reversible? I'm wondering about what the back side looks like..
Thanks! Lovin' your swatchin'!
