Knit Alongs

This week in the NBaT knit along, we have 2 finishers, a newbie, and someone looking to take bets.

Amy has finished her NBaT.  She made several interesting modifications to the pattern including a V-neck and sleeves knit from the top down -- you go girl!  Details can be found on her project page.

Janell is also a new finisher this week.  She added a nice color twist to her NBaT.

Anastacia is our knit along newbie cause hey, it's never too late to join in the fun!

And last, but not least, we have Ma who is looking to take bets.  Poor Ma is hooking up her NBaT to a ball winder -- we all know what that means -- and is taking bets on whether she'll have her T done by Labor Day.  nona bets you'll have it done by July 4th!

Does anyone have any knit along news -- or secrets -- to share?

Ooh Nona you always seem to know what I am thinking! I have a knit a long secret- I am not happy with my NBaT and I'm considering redoing the neckline. I put in a V neck and picot edging and the blessed thing won't stay flat, so, even though you have got me down as blue I may be going brown again!

I don't have any secrets (well, knitting-wise, that is), but I do have a question for Ask Nona. I have just read your tips on how to pick up stitches (1/7/05 post) and it all makes sense - except for the first step, which says to "Secure the tail of yarn around the running thread at the spot you want to begin picking up stitches." What is a running thread? Please help! I am ready to begin my first pick-up (again, knitting-wise, that is) and I would hate to start it all wrong.

These look excellent! I love seeing what everyone comes up with. :-) And Anastacia should know that there's no rule requiring you to finish things before you start something else. ;-)

I'm not making any bets with anybody, but I have figured out that what I thought was a problem with my NBaT sleeves was actually a problem with my ability to read the neck-shaping directions the first time around. I don't have a ball winder, but I'll be joining Ma in ripping back a little and trying again ...
